The reason why humans do not remember the world where we live between our lives on Earth is because when we are reborn, we are given an item that makes us forget everything. In his study, the author explored what that item is and how we can avoid it. This book details how to do that, based on an actual study of the afterworld.

The author interviewed several people from a small village in China, which he calls ‘The Village of the Reborn’, and recounts their stories in this book.

He also tells of the rebirth of his beloved golden retriever, Verl, and how they reunited in the form of a new puppy, Ribbon.

This book may change the history of humanity as those who read it will be able to retain their memories of this life and the afterworld when they begin their next life.

About the Author

My name is Ken Morita and I was born in Tokyo in 1951. I entered the electrical and electronic engineering department of Sophia University and took many religious classes because I wanted to learn about deities. Much of my journey was inspired by a book by D. T. Suzuki that I was given by my priest, who was also a professor. Sophia University is a true Catholic university established by the Vatican, but there is a love there that transcends religion.

After working for Fujitsu, I established my own IT company at the age of 26 and won the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications’ Award for communication software that I developed.

I opened a supernatural laboratory at the age of 43 and have since travelled the world studying phenomena that are unexplained by science. At the Monroe Institute in the USA, I had an out-of-body experience, read a letter that had been placed in another dimension and amazed people with the accuracy of what I had read. When I injured my arm in a car crash in Brazil, I underwent a special surgery by a possessed doctor, where he made a 15cm cut without anaesthetic. I didn’t feel any pain and the after-effects of the injury disappeared, but I still have a big scar. I connected with my unconscious through the Taoist teaching “doing without doing” and felt that I was living with deities. I continued my investigations, letting things be, and by chance I encountered the Village of the Reborn. There was talk of a movie about it and all of a sudden, at the age of 64, I wrote and composed my first song.

Morita’s favourite songs he has written:

SOUP, Ribbon, SATORI, Hello CQ, Oneness

Morita’s original mottos:

“Take your hands off the wheel of your consciousness and everything will be like playing”.

“Life is the result of questions”.

Chapter 1
The arrival of my first pet

My family had a puppy that we named Verl, because the Japanese pronunciation of ‘Verl’ sounds like the word furifuri, a word for shaking that came to mind every time she wagged her tail.

Verl was a golden retriever, and was four months old when we got her. We had never had a pet before, so at first we didn’t have a clue what to do. The first thing we did was take her to the vet, where we found out that she had roundworms in her stomach. The vet gave us a laxative to get rid of the worms. We gave it to her on the veranda and the worms crawled over the veranda.

Once the worms were gone, Verl began tearing around the living room, back and forth from one end to the other. My family got up on the dining room table and waited for her to settle down. After about five minutes, Verl stopped running, lay down on the sofa and went to sleep, and we could gingerly climb down from the table.

When I phoned the breeder, she said, ‘That often happens when a dog has had worms. And all puppies run around.’

When I hung up and looked over at Verl, she looked up at me with a sad face.

‘This puppy was meant to be a part of our family,’ I told the others. ‘Let’s take good care of her.’ At that, Verl grinned.

This happened to be right at the time I had set up my supernatural laboratory. I started it because before I died I wanted to carry out scientific investigations of things that were thus far unexplained by science. First, I took out an ad in a Chinese newspaper:

‘Seeking supernatural phenomena.

I set off for China the next day and shortly after I arrived at my hotel, someone was knocking on the door of my room. He introduced himself.

‘I love the supernatural too,’ he said. ‘We could study it together.’

And so we began studying the supernatural together. I will call this man Tiger, because he was born in the Year of the Tiger.

‘Many people in the village where I’m from have memories of their past life,’ he said. ‘Will you do a study?’

‘Of course,’ I said.

Tiger took me to his village. It took three days to get there. High up on a steep, 2000m-high cliff are caves, and this is where the villagers live. I named this village the Village of the Reborn.

I heard one thing after another that could not be explained by today’s science. But while such matters are not considered to be science today, I believe that writing about them will lead to the advancement of mankind in future. So as soon as I arrived, I leapt straight into interviewing the villagers.
